Common Questions

Why should I buy a concrete water tank?
Concrete water tanks keep your water cool and prevent light entering, hence preventing growth of algae and other nasties. Their durable nature means they are vastly more suitable during bushfires due to their larger capacity, resistance to flames and cooler water.

See our Why buy a Concrete water tank? page for more details.
How often should I clean my concrete water tank?
The reality is that most people leave cleaning their tank until someone in the house hold (or a visitor) makes a complaint.

The NSW Health Department recommends that your tank be at least inspected every two years. For more details, please look at our tank cleaning page or use the Quick Contact form on this page, select 'Rebates' and email us the details of your enquiry.
What size concrete water tank should I buy?
This is a difficult one. The answer being a combination of factors such as family size, available space, cost, are you having a dam or are you near a creek, are you going to water the garden with the tank water and other water usage issues around your property.

Generally speaking if you don’t want to have to worry about water use in the home, then the best and most economical size is a 20000 gallon (90000 litre) tank.

With this size you have the ability to await the next rain to top it up. With a small tank you will find yourself buying water.

See our Tank Types page and choose your property type or application for more details.

What rebates are available from government to help me install my water tank?
Both state and federal governments are working with local councils and water bodies to provide generous incentives to install water tanks and connect the tank to your household supply. These rebates vary from time to time so it's always best to check before proceeding with your purchase.

For the latest information please contact us with your details (or select Rebates on the Quick Contact form) and we will get back to you with the details of the latest programs and grant information ...
